Watermelon Zkittlez is an indica dominant hybrid strain (70% indica/30% sativa) created through crossing the delicious Zkittlez X Watermelon strains. If you’re after a bud that actually tastes like its name sounds, look no further.
Watermelon Zkittlez packs a mouthwatering sweet citrus and watermelon flavor into each and every earthy toke. The aroma is of earthy herbs and rich fruity citrus with a heavily sour overtone that turns slightly pungent the more the nugs are burned.
The Watermelon Zkittlez strain isn’t quite as bright as the flavor, with effects that are best suited for a lazy night at home rather than one spent off the couch. The high starts with a rush of cerebral effects that smash into your head with giddy and unfocused euphoria.
As your mind soars higher and higher, your body will begin to settle into a deeply relaxing state, keeping you anchored as the head rush continues to rampage. Thanks to these cerebral effects and its high 25% + average THC level, Watermelon Zkittlez is said to be perfect for treating conditions such as mood swings, chronic stress or anxiety, neuropathy, and chronic pain.
Watermelon Zkittlez buds have heart-shaped dark olive green nugs with rich purple undertones, sparse orange hairs, and a coating of tiny purple-tinted white crystal trichomes.

Zkittlez, sometimes also spelled Skittlez or just Skittles is an indica-dominant hybrid that erupts with fruit flavor. The creation of Northern California-based collective Dying Breed Seeds, this strain is descended from fruity indica favorite Grape Ape and tangy Sativa Grapefruit. Skittles combines the mental and physical effects of both parent strains to yield a smooth, multifaceted high. This bud’s appeal was strong enough to earn the title of Best Indica at the 2015 High Times Cannabis Cup held in Michigan. Zkittlez’s THC content has been measured at between 15% and 23%.

Like its namesake, this strain offers you the opportunity to taste the rainbow — but as it turns out Zkittlez lets you see a rainbow too. Depending on phenotype, the plant’s thick and chunky flowers appear in a variety of greens and purples, with vibrant orange hairs (or pistils) sprinkled throughout. The eye-catching purple hues are the result of high concentrations of anthocyanin pigments. The trimmed buds have a characteristically indica structure, tight and densely-packed, with smallish leaves. Finally, a dusting of cloudy white trichomes ensures both stickiness and psychoactivity.

Its aroma is where Zkittlez really shines. When properly cured, Zkittlez’s flowers give off a kind of sweet-sour funk. A second whiff reveals slightly more distinct notes of berry and lemon. Grinding up the flowers intensifies the strain’s more sour notes, resulting in a kind of skunky character. When combusted in a pipe or joint, the flowers burn with a very pleasant and easily-inhaled smoke. On the exhale, this light smoke tastes fruity and grape-like. Notably, any detectable grape flavors are coincidental to the strain’s purple coloring; this is because the plant’s color are determined by pigmentation., while its flavor profile is determined by terpenes.

Although Zkittlez comes on relatively quickly, its head-focused effects tend to be subtle. Some slight pressure around the eyes and temples may occur at first. As smokers become accustomed to this feeling, though, they’re able to appreciate the strain’s action on their sensory perception. Odd experiences like visual and auditory distortions are commonly reported, as is a strange feeling of time passing more slowly. Such trippy, depersonalizing effects can be boosted by atmospheric enhancements, particularly moody music or a visually-engaging television show.

At the same time that Zkittlez’s psychedelic trappings set in, users may also notice that their thoughts have taken on a newly plugged-in quality, with certain ideas seeming to occupy more space or attention than they otherwise might. This kind of cerebral energy can be a great way to work on detailed tasks, whether they’re complicated or more mundane, like cleaning the house. As the high wears on, a palpable body high creeps in to complement these mentally-activating effects. While this newfound relaxation isn’t liable to knock smokers out flat, it could just undo any earlier motivation to get through a long to-do list. In these later stages, Zkittlez is best enjoyed laid-back circumstances. Because of its slow dip in energy levels, this bud is recommended for consumption between late afternoon and early evening.

Zkittlez can also have a few different applications for medical cannabis patients. The strain’s initially zoned-in mental properties can aid focus for those attention deficit disorders. As the body high takes over, it can temporarily soothe the symptoms of stress, depression, and anxiety. Physical benefits include relief from both chronic pain and minor, everyday irritation. Zkittlez can also cause a surge in appetite, helping out those who have lost their hunger to disease or to treatments like chemotherapy. Because of its potentially paranoid cerebral effects, patients who are prone to panic or who have a low THC tolerance should consume Zkittlez with some caution.

Seeds of this tasty strain are not available for sale online. Instead, prospective growers should obtain clippings from mature, healthy plants in order to grow genetically identical “clones.” While there’s little info available on best practices for cultivating Zkittlez, we know that it can be successfully grown indoors or outdoors in a hot, humid climate. Gardeners looking to bring out the bud’s shades of purple should expose their crops to cold (but not freezing) nighttime temperatures just before flowering begins. Taking into account strains with a similar indica to sativa ratio suggest that Zkittlez may flower anywhere between the 8 and 10-week mark.

Zkittlez is an increasingly popular strain that’s worth grabbing when spotted on dispensary shelves. It’s enjoyable as a solo treat or when shared with like-minded friends.

Watermelon, also known as Watermelon Kush, is a mysterious strain of unknown parentage. This bud’s unspecified genetic background brings a rich mix of terpenes that have resulted in a unique watermelon aroma. Beyond its refreshing summery flavor, this strain is valued for its long-lasting sedative power. Watermelon’s THC content has been measured at between 11% and 22%.

Watermelon is marked by large, chunky flowers that tend to maintain their shape when trimmed. These buds adhere in the relatively loose, pieces structure usually associated with Sativa varieties. The fluffy leaves, which can easily be torn away from their central stems, are a bright shade of yellowish-green. These flowers are also filled with curly orange hairs (which are actually pistils, botanical structures meant to catch pollen from fertilizing male plants. Capping off the impressive buds is a thick blanket of trichomes that gives them a white sheen and a very sticky texture.

If properly cured, Watermelon’s flowers give off a fruity aroma that blends tart berries and grapes. While present, the strain’s watermelon scent is not especially prominent and may only be detected on a second or third inspection. Grinding up these buds yields some skunky notes, perhaps testifying to OG Kush in the strain’s lineage. When combusted, Watermelon burns with a smooth, fruity smoke that tastes like grape with some lingering sour traces on the exhale.

As with many predominantly indica strains, Watermelon’s high has a slow onset. The effects may begin as a tingle around the eyes and forehead. This odd sensation soon warps into a warm feeling that envelops the entire body, letting users know that they’re in for a physically relaxing experience.

Watermelon is not without some mental stimulation, though. Although this is a heavy indica, it comes without the dopey, incapacitated mindset of some stronger, knockout indica strains. Smokers may notice their thoughts rambling freely, and may find some concepts or stimuli to be more interesting than they otherwise might. Although Watermelon is unlikely to facilitate any deep, cerebral thinking, it’s just the thing for creative brainstorming or for simple, idle daydreaming. While consumers typically remain lucid enough to carry on conversations, those with a busy schedule shouldn’t plan on getting any work done under Watermelon’s influence.

Instead, this bud is a good accompaniment to kicking back and watching tv and the end of a long day or week of work. As the high passes or as the dosage is increased, users should prepare for some intractable couchlock. Under the right circumstances, the strain can even lull smokers into a deep, restful sleep. Because of its mostly sedative vibes, this strain is recommended for nighttime rather than daylight use.

Watermelon can also have several potential benefits for medical cannabis patients. Its physically soothing effects can treat aches and pains, whether they’re temporary or chronic. It may also soothe everyday irritations like headaches and nausea. Meanwhile, the bud’s mood-elevating properties may temporarily take the edge off of mild to moderate cases of stress, depression, and anxiety. Finally, as noted, Watermelon can counteract insomnia with the force of its sedation. Because this strain is unlikely to trigger the kind of intense, recursive thinking that can lead to paranoia, it is a good option for patients who are prone to panic or who have a low THC tolerance.

No breeders have taken the reins of cultivating Watermelon on a commercial scale. As such, seeds are not readily available online and prospective growers will need to obtain clippings of the strain in order to grow genetically identical “clones.” The strain can be grown indoors or out, although success outdoors requires a semi-humid climate with daytime temperatures between 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Watermelon flowers within 8 to 9 weeks, when grown indoors and offers, grows a high yield of flowers for their efforts.

Somewhat difficult to come by, Watermelon is worth snatching up if spotted on dispensary shelves. If you bring this bud out in social situations, its irresistible fruity aroma is sure to turn some heads — so be sure to bring enough to share.

High tolerance user, use daily for pain, nausea, fatigue, anxiety, depression, PTSD, muscle spasms. I am immediately impressed at how well it’s helping me focus and concentrate on things that I need to. My pain is suitably dulled and my mentality is.. pleasant! I’m not too tired but I feel like I could get some rest if I actually laid down and tried. All in all, this is a fantastic indica and I would definitely buy it 😈) again!
